4/7/2020 – Status of Port Operations

Here is the latest information on Lake Charles Harbor and Terminal District operations:

  • CITY DOCKS, BULK TERMINAL 1, ALL MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENTS: All are operating to provide normal services for all tenants. Rotating work schedule is in effect.
  • ADMINISTRATION: The Port’s administration building remains closed to help prevent contact and exposure to the coronavirus. Essential administrative employees have remote connectivity in order to continue daily administrative functions and services to the extent possible.
  • HARBOR POLICE, TWIC GATES: Open and operating normally.

The Port continues to work with state, local and federal officials, including the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and U.S. Coast Guard, to ensure Port policies and procedures meet and exceed all current health and safety guidelines. We remain committed to transparent communication with our tenants, partners, and the broader community as this situation continues to evolve. Our top priority is the health and safety of our employees, tenants, and visitors, while maintaining the critical operations that our region and supply chain depend on. We will continue to monitor guidance from public health authorities and adjust our operations accordingly. Updates will be posted as the situation develops.
